Experience the Media Web:
A Media Console: ION makes it easy for you to find, manage and experience rich media content on the web. Once you have ION installed, you can subscribe to your favorite content, search multiple media search engines at once, create playlists, and share your favorite content with your friends.
An Open Media Player: When you find the content you want, ION will playback the media for you. It supports most media file formats, so you can sit back and enjoy videos from Yahoo! Video, YouTube, Grouper, Revver or anywhere, in one player. You an also enjoy audio podcasts and songs by indy artists.
ION also provides photocasting technology so that you can subscribe to photo feeds from Flickr (say that really fast!) and other photo-sharing sites that support Syndication.
Media Delivered Automatically
Subscribe to Content Feeds: ION allows you to subscribe to media feeds such as podcasts and video blogs. You can set ION to auto-download the content so that it is waiting for you and ready to play. Every day ION will go out and retrieve new content from your subscribed feeds.
Find Sounds, Motion and Sight
Search Everywhere at Once: Enter a search term and ION will provide results from Yahoo! Video, Flickr, WebJay, Blip.tv, Digg, Youtube and Blogdigger. You can sort through results based on the origin, the type of media or the date. Click play to stream the media content or download it for later.
Auto Update Media Searches: ION Searches return links to media content such as audio, video and images. Most of the time you can download the content right into ION so that you can experience it right away (Some content types will force you to use your browser.) You can also set up the search to run everyday so that you’ll be updated as new media content comes online.
Become a Web Media Playlister
Create and Share Playlists: As you discover new and interesting Internet media content, you can drag and drop it into your playlists. Give your playlists descriptive names like “Patagonia: Penguin Zone” and create a description for it.
And if you want to, you can share your playlist with the world. Just activate a share account and the rest of the world will be able to subscribe to your playlist. Scouring the iondb site is a great way for you to find great content that playlisters have discovered.
Keep Open Media Open
