As you can see, we have a fairly small yard (around 0.8 of an acre). I would be using it mainly for trimming around the driveway and flowerbeds, as well as trimming around the house. I don’t plan on using it to bushhog.
Would an electric trimmer be sufficient? Most of the trimming would be done right around the house, so I don’t think cord length would be an issue. Thanks in advance.

I have a similar small yard, and I picked up the Black & Decker 18V One+ cordless trimmer. It works perfectly for my needs, and came with 2 batteries. I also got the blower that uses the same batteries so that when I’m done trimming I just slide the battery over to the blower and clean off the walkway.
YMMV, but it only takes me about 20 minutes to do all my yard trimming.

Electric would be fine if you don’t mind dragging a cord. Some of the new cordless ones would be good to.
Gas trimmer is nice for a lot of heavy-duty work. Requires more maintenance though.
Whatever you get, read reviews. mine is a pain to replace the cutting wires
